Perfect fit Magnet works good with the car mount. 5/5
Came from Rebel series gen-3 but this seems to be of much better quality.

Nice case but better ones on the market just a little too hard for my taste

I just purchased the cover for my new Pro Max because I used it on my Iphone 11 for a long time. I dropped the Iphone 11 several times, sometimes on concrete and it survived.. thanks to this cover. Money well spent.

Great IPhone 13 MagSafe case. I tried a few but this by far the best case for the money.

Love this case- awesome protection and high quality case without adding excessive bulk to the phone. Highly recommend!

Love that the sides allow you to hold the photo! Great design

The back is slippery but got it cheap so all good.

Item is great quality and feels like it will out last my phone.

This seems very durable and it is lighter weight than the otter covers. Thank you I love the clear so I can still see my light blue metallic iPhone.

Love the texture and the finger grips. Super look and feel with super Mil Spec protection.
Ricardo D.
I liked the material and the clear view of the case. I would buy it again next time.

MagSafe works great. When I hold the case by the side grips, my fingers stay put and have no issues. This is good because whatever fingers are holding the back slides around easily. This hard to explain. I think it’s how you hold the case. If I hold with one hand, right hand, it’s slippery if I hold it with my thumb just under the power button (thumb is very slippery). My pinky finger is at the bottom by the lightning cable port. Index finger is on the back (somewhat slippery) and my middle and ring fingers are on the other side (not slippery at all). This how I usually hold my phone while sitting or lying down. I don’t feel like I’m gonna drop it but the thumb being slippery is weird. I’ve tried the ESR air protect which is a better grip on back and sides but it’s ugly as heck. I also had a rubbery type that pulls my pocket out of my shorts when I take it out (very not slippery. It sticks too well. Also had no MagSafe). I’m thinking of buying ESR MagSafe circle thing to attach to the rubbery thing and use that. It also had rubber parts around all the cameras and not just a big hole for the square part. I didn’t understand about MagSafe when I got the rubbery case. I don’t think the same company makes a MagSafe version

I'd used a Tech21 case for my iPhone XS Max and I was happy with it. But when I ordered a similar one for my iPhone 13 Pro Max, the Tech21 case was so tight that I decided not to push my new phone all the way into the case for fear that I wouldn't be able to remove it.I just bought the Smartish Gripzilla and it's perfect. It's still a snug fit, but not so much that you'll break your phone trying to take it off. I think it affords more protection than the Tech21 with very little additional bulk. It's exactly what I was looking for.

This case is serving me well. I came from an OtterBox Defender case that I had on my iPhone XS Max, which set a pretty high bar for grippiness. This case is not grippy in the soft, rubbery way that the Defender was, but it is textured and shaped in such a way as to make it about as grippy as it could be while still being made out of the material it's made out of. And speaking of the material it's made out of, I fully expect that, because it's harder than the Defender case, it's going to hold up better than the Defender did. OtterBox struck a certain balance between durability and the soft kind of grippiness I was looking for when I bought this case, and the Defender did an outstanding job for a long time, but one day it just suddenly started giving up the ghost – I'd handle my phone and come away with black stuff all over my hands because the case was disintegrating. I'm thinking that what this case foregoes in soft rubberiness it will make up for in durability. The increased hardness probably also translates into greater shock to the phone if it's dropped, but iPhones can handle a lot (and I almost never drop my phone) so I'm not overly worried about that. All in all I think this is probably a solid choice for an iPhone case and I expect it will hold up and protect my phone very well.
J
I purchased a clear Apple case with the phone, but after only a few moments, I realized it was too slippery to be practical. The next day, it fell only 2 feet to the ground from a table, and the screen protector cracked at a vulnerable spot near the port. This arrived today, and it’s like night and day. Tremendous improvement. Very comfortable grip, and every edge of the phone is protected.

Just got an iPhone 13 Pro Max.... wanted to get a case for it. Previously I had always gotten UAG cases. I did have minor some issues on my last 2 UAG's....the rubber sides would separate from the plastic...and I'd have to pop it back in....but I did like the look and feel of them. But this time, I realized they are asking too much money for what you get. And they don't seem to support MagSafe yet.So after reading many reviews...I settled on the Gripzilla. Love it. Feels very protective, side buttons click nicely...and yes, there's the textured grip on the sides. Feels good in my hands. I'm not sure about the people that complain that it's still slippery....maybe their hands are oilier?..I suspect they'd have the same problem with other cases then also. That, and the price, and it supports MagSafe....makes it a winner.

I finally found a cellphone case I love! It's sturdy, doesn't slip out of my hand and is actually good looking!

I have been using smartiah on 3 phones now. I have never had any damage and love the grip!!

I’d like to see and feel a little more grippy on the case but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have any. It’s a nice case and meets my needs, the wavy grooves are perfect. I’d buy again and maybe iPhone 14 case, they will make it a little more grippy
Ryan
Tried 3 cases for my iphone 13 pro max and this pne is by far the best. Met and or exceeded otterbox cases. Just buy and you won’t regret it. Magsafe compatible and the magnet is strong and you can use all the magsafe accessories with no problem

Great phone case. I normally buy otter box. I just gave this a try and I’m glad I did. I love this case. Gonna order more for my other phones I have
Christina
I trust the durability and protection provided by the Smartish case but my main complaint with all of the cases that I've gotten is that they are not tacky enough for better grip. Because of this, I've dropped my phone numerous times but I've never broken a phone while they've been housed in their cases so take from that what you will. I might try to modify my case with all purpose silicone on the sides but I'm not currently compelled to try.
BZ
Well, it is protective and nicely made. I have personally used it over three generations of iPhone now. All lasted beautifully. Phone survived typical drops. Case also never showed any substantial damage. I think that is also important. The back is not sticky but the groves compensate for that. The bottom holes for speakers and lightening cable charger also help to hold the phone good. Cases like Commuter from Otterbox have smooth bottom which is not a help to hold a 6.7” iPhone. Buttons are clicky and responsive. MagSafe works like a charm. Inside will collect some dust but that is not a biggy. You can easily take the phone out and clean with an alcohol swab. No microbial protection, though. Again alcohol swab should take care the outside.

Just got an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and needed a case--all cell phones appear to be designed to be slippery, to be dropped, and to support the billion dollar repair industry. Apple probably manufactures and ships their cases for $5, but charges 50+. Hundreds of other choices at all prices on Amazon, but I was struck by the ribbed sides on this one and what appeared to be non-slip materials--both minimizing the chance of the phone slipping out of one's hands. The indentations are shallow, but enough for fingers to grip. The surface is not sticky but is rough enough to give confidence while holding I really can't judge the "sturdiness" and "durability" --come back in 5 years. I doubt, however, there are better cases for any price.
TKMmom
Grip works great, works with magsafe products, I use my magsafe compatible pop its and chargers and it works with this case, plus I like that this case doesn't show the magsafe circle
Rob K.
It’s not bulletproof, but great for the everyday non-tactical person! Having some level of “gripture” on the sides was a requirement. Has just enough.
Quincy G.
Great Case! Bought one for me an my Son feels great in the hand an looks great on our phones was using otter box but this is a better case

Best case for value
Tyson B.
This is the best durable (but not so thick its unuseable) case ive found that works as good as the apple case for Mag safe products. Also like the textured grip on perimeter of case.
Robert Michael N.
Has a great grip in the hand.

Works as advertised. The side grooves make it easy to hold. A real bargain compared to similar products.

I purchased this case for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. This Smartish case blows away the Apple cases I tried for my iPhone 12 PM and costs about half as much. Like the Apple cases, the fit is excellent, however, I find the buttons are much more responsive, the case is easier to grip and the imag connects easier. The drop protection also appears to be more robust. I cracked the corner of the Apple clear case on my iPhone12 the 1st week I had it. The screen is still unprotected but the case has a rim around the entire periphery of the screen and the camera, allowing you to lay the phone on a flat surface without scratching either. The speakers, charge port and the Silent Mode switch are all uncovered. I do wish the charge port was covered and I may order their screen protector to add more protection. This case will not keep out dirt, dust or water but it will be good for every day carry and provide the drop protection I wanted. If my opinion changes over time, I will post again. At least for now, I am very pleased!
jbnimble
Great case for the money. Fits good. Probably not the best for drop protection. Good fit. Keeps your phone from sliding on slick surfaces. Recommended.
Picky tech g.
So far, this is one of the most creative and purpose-built cases I’ve ever owned. I haven’t tested its durability yet since I’ve only had it a little while, but it has lips to protect the screen and cameras, and fits snugly with extra protection on the corners. Also, the finger grips are perfect. Great design.
Joe D.
With iPhone 13 pro max still being relatively new the price of cases is extremely high and the reviews are not that great. Well this case is under $20 and it is one of the best cases I have had. It's a perfect fit and the grip on the sides is just right.Highly recommended

What’s life without whimsy. If your stuck trying to decide between this or some other similar product, get this one just for the packaging and instructions. Total deal-maker.
Thomas M.
Tried 8 other cases for my iPhone 13 Pro Max and came upon this one. Was a little hesitant due to limited amount of reviews. This case is fantastic. Fit perfect, raised bevels for screen and camera lenses, grip is not slippery but also not to sticky to catch in pants. Liked it so much I ordered another two - one to have a pop tart kickstand and a second for a back-up.
Scott
I tried out a lot of cases for the 13 pro max when it was released. This was the best one out of the bunch. Highly recommend.

I love this case! It looks feminine enough for me without sacrificing protection and you can’t beat the price! My favorite thing is the grips on both sides…perfect for clumsy me!

I recently upgraded from my iPhone XS Max to the iPhone 13 pro max and found myself in search for a case. I purchased the MagSafe charger and Belkin MagSafe car mount before getting a case and realized this was a must have feature. After going over many cases and many reviews I was at a loss. Not many companies were capitalizing on this, in my opinion, must have feature and the ones that were did it poorly. I landed on Smartish and saw mostly favorable reviews but there were some naysayers. Fast forward to Black Friday and these cases went on sale. I purchased both the Gripzilla and Gripmunk. I have been switching between the two but have fallen in love with the Gripzilla. Fit is flawless and grip around the border is perfect. The back could be a little grippier but nothing I would say negatively impacts my decision on this purchase. Best of all the MagSafe is flawless. Just like having no case at all. All in all if your on the fence about purchasing this case and are concerned about fit, function, or MagSafe capability don’t be. This case has it all and at an amazing price.

With a new 13 pro max , didn’t wanna leave 3 lenses exposed This case slips onto phone snugly. Love the sliding door over lenses. Buttons all respond

Great hold and durability, sizing is perfect for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I feel giddy every time I pick it up, to be honest.

Great case. Easy to install and remove. 4 stars because despite its texture, it can be a little slippery.

It does what it says it does! Holds MagSafe to perfection!! And oh boy, it feels Uh-mazing in your hand!! Fantastic product!!

Feels very durable and lightweight. Doesn’t add too much to an already bulky phone. The grooves make holding your phone quite comfortable. The MagSafe magnets are super strong. Very satisfied with my purchase. Would highly recommend.
Christopher L. H.
Fit is perfect, and very durable as advertised.
Archana
It protects your phone very well and what is like is it has a nice grip to hold the phone in hand, not a slippery one. I dropped my new iPhone 13 max pro on a trip to Grand Canyon and it saved phone.
John G.
Color is nice gray. Tired of picking up the wrong black phone!
Daut
I expected a super grippy case as advertised…… this case is grippy but not more than my last case ♂️ Back feels weird too idk how to explain it . Try it out for yourselves and I’m sure you will understand what I mean. Expected more GRIP so I am definitely not happy.
Amos K.
This case is excellent. My old ‘go to’ was Ottercase, but Smartish build quality is excellent and it’s a better value. The whole family has bought Smartish now. I guess that makes us smart-ish.
Chris S.
After an extensive search I arrived at this case based upon the Times WireCutter review. I’ve owned some of the expensive cases and was skeptical because of the low price. In the end, it’s the best case of them all. The sides are textured and slightly grippy but not so much that your pocket sticks to them. The back is a textured plastic that again, doesn’t make it difficult to slide in and out of a pocket. Corners have shock absorbers so I know when it takes that inevitable dive into concrete this very expensive phone will remain protected. The camera notch on the rear is large enough to allow a lens protector. Mag-Safe works very well. But the very best feature are the finger notches that make holding this large phone feel natural. Well done!
Chris R.
I was impressed from the moment I opened the box. Nice feel !!
V. D.
Not the most stylish case, but the protection is top notch. Phone corners are well protected, fits like a tailored glove, and keeps the screen and phone lenses from scraping surfaces. Big thumbs up!
sugarballs713
Just the phone case I was looking for. Good grip with good protection.
Billy
After trying several cases for iPhone 13 Pro Max, I almost decided to keep this one. Although it's not 100% perfect, it's good enough for most important concerns and expectations.Simple to say, it really balances almost all common requirements, including the price.

I just upgraded to the new iPhone 13 pro max and was having a difficult time finding a case. I bought a clear case and used it for a short time but with the size and weight of the phone, I found the case to be too slippery. It also didn't feel sturdy. I ordered this one to replace that one. It is a great product. Good luck finding a better case that is Mag Safe compatible, and sturdy. You won't.
Rodney R.
Exactly what I was looking for - easy to hold & grip, solid, comfortable and protects my over priced iPhone.I replaced a name brand case with this case and am extremely pleased that I did.
Angela K.
Bought this same case about a year ago for my 11 pro max. Liked it so much that I bought it for my new 13 pro max. Sturdy. Great grippability. Good hand fit. MagSafe works well through it. Wouldn’t consider spending my money on any other case. And you get a code for a free screen protector in the box.
Meezer-Mom
As soon as I ordered my iPhone 13 Pro Max, I ordered this case & it arrived well in advance of the back ordered phone.I didn’t have much faith that it would match the excellent grip all my Speck Grip cases have in the past, but since Speck started making the ribs out of plastic the reviews have been on the dumpster, so this was what I found. The empty case felt rather slippery in my hand, but once the phone was installed it did have a more secure feel.I’m not a big tech addict - I’m just now replacing a 8 Plus so the sticker shock of the iPhone 13 was substantial - so to give it a greater degree of protection I ordered a Pop Socket—>PopSocket users: This was my first experience w/ a Pop Socket & too late I discovered I’d placed it a tad too low. I looked up how to safely remove & replace it & I am thankful that I used a thin tool to start raising the edge - I was dismayed when I realized it was going to take the top layers off of the case: I noticed a white area under the tiny spot I was lifting. I grabbed a flashlight & saw that it was not the PopSocket base separating, but rather it was going to destroy the case if I didn’t stop.So the good news is PopSockets definitely will adhere perfectly - the bad news is the case isn’t built with a thick or hard enough top layer to withstand its removal.I understand that Speck is revamping their grip cases and I will likely switch to that if they do - in the meantime I’m happily using this caseBtw, the PopSocket that matches this case is: Purple Blue Galaxy Space Nebula PopSockets PopGrip: Swappable Grip for Phones & Tablets

I've only had the case for a week but like the look and feel. It appears to be well constructed.
Gizmo
I had originally purchased the OtterBox Commuter Series the new version which claimed to fit. It did not. After what seems hrs of more research I settled on this case. Fits good, button works good, looks like it will take drops (hope not to test this). Its new so time will tell but so far its one of the better cases I have purchased.
Mr. J.
This is one of the best cases I have ever put on one of my phones. The first thing I look for is grip. I have dropped phones with cases and screens protectors and they still incurred damage. My thinking is that if you never drop the phone, you won't damage it. The grippiness plus the finger indentations make for a secure grip. Add to that sufficiently raise edges to protect the screen and camera, plus the air cushioned bumper corners. Great all around protections. This is a winner in my book!!!
Escape C.
Chose a Smartish case after reading reviews on the website of a well-known US newspaper. Chose the Gripzilla because protection was my top priority. This case seems like it will protect my phone should I drop it. It is well made and fits perfectly. The texture and contours on the sides do ensure a good grip. Based on this, I'll probably go with a Smartish case the next time I need one.
T.R.
I really like the feel of the case and the grippyness on the sides.Edit after two days use:Feels great. Holds the iPhone 13 pro max very nicely and feels protective. Would recommend.
santajp
The wavy grippy sides on this model are helpful for a klutz like me! This company makes the best affordable, yet cool, cases around. I had one on my last phone; I loved it so much I ordered a new case before I ordered my new phone!
Jecomozen
The grip and texture are such wonderful features for this case. Whatever the circumstances, I feel confident I can keep a solid grip on this phone. It’s slim and doesn’t add any unnecessary bulk to the phone in my pocket either. The graphic is a nice personal touch tooo. It’s already proven it’s sturdiness with some drops and my phone made it out unscathed. Overall, I am very happy with this case and it’s by far the best case I’ve used for an iPhone.
NotObvious
I really wanted to like this case and I think it's somewhat decent but my problem is the grippyness of the case. I was expecting a soft rubbery feel that I could hold onto easily without stressing about dropping my $1,200 phone. This is simply not the "case" for that. The finger cut outs are nice but I found this no more grippy than other cases and in fact if felt like a hard plastic in the finger area where you expect the most grip. Since not grippy I'm returning. OH BTW... Smartish charges for returns, yep, so please keep that in mind.
Brian O.
Great case!! Love the grip. Exactly what I was looking for
Chris
I’ve only had it for a few days but I’ve noticed a huge difference already. I wasn’t using a case for the first few weeks of owning my new phone. I noticed it’s pretty top heavy with the camera hardware. This case fits the phone extremely well, has raised edges along the camera lenses and screen, and has phenomenal grip on the sides. It feels very natural to hold and use and I’m much more confident using my device with it. I haven’t dropped it yet, thankfully, but it seems like it would provide adequate protection for small drops.Edit: dropped it already, right on its edge, and it handled it just fine.
Kahala K.
I don’t know what I expected from Gripzilla - I thought it works be kind of sticky? Like silicone cases. It’s not - is shaped like where my fingers wrap around, and that part is…rough? No not rough, textured maybe. But whatever you call it is a great feeling case! Slim line but well protected; the lip around the screen and camera and strong corners. All in all great case so far. Slips in my jeans pocket just fine. Would totally recommend!
Jason J.
This is a really sturdy but comfortable case! It has a great feel and a nice, clean look. Very impressed! Worth the money and then some!

Got one for my 13 pro max an love it
Mike
This case was sold out days after the iPhone 13 ProMax release. I got the phone on day two. I used a soft case until this arrived. It's a solid case. The lip wraps around the edge well. I had a Spiegen case on my last phone that had a tougher edge than this. It saved me countless times. This one is close to that but I have pushed the edge on a surface. It will give with enough force if it impacts the screen edge along the case edge, with a hard surface. It is weakest at the volume buttons area for this issue. It's more bulky than a slim fit case. Less bulky than the Spiegen armor case. The side rubber shape and grip are as advertised. Wonderful friction and grip. The back is made of a material that seems to be able to hold onto a pop socket, unlike some of the half rubbery/silicon material on some cases. I had to sand a circle on the Spiegen case and Super-Glue a pop socket on that case. The Casegoo frosty slim case is a semi silicon material like that too. Not made for adhesion of a pop socket, if you prefer one. If I didn't drop my phone so much, and didn't prefer a pop socket, the Casegoo is a slimmer and lighter case. This is heavier. The back of this seems to be made of a hard material that should maintain the adhesive bond when I do try one out soon. It's tough. I tried that one out for a day. It's slim but not as tough as this one if you do drop it on an edge. I do drop my phone often. I'm glad I used the Spiegen screen protector that comes with a foolproof method of installing one perfectly aligned. The edges on this case meet the screen protector with little room to spare. You could probably install this case and use it as a guide for any screen protector. I'm talking about a few thousands of an inch clearance with the lip of the case all around. There's little margin for error for a poorly aligned screen protector should you install one first. It's a snug fit. All around, a great case. If you prefer some side grip and dont mind the extra bulk and width, but want a little more protection than a slim fit case, this one works well. If you want an all around armor case, this one will give on the edge during a very hard phone edge impact. The Spiegen I had last didn't give at all (the one with the circle cut out to show the Apple logo on the back), but it was more bulky and heavuer than this one. I give this 4.5 stars in its category of case styles. It's very unique and just as described.

The Spigen case looks much nicer but is not reliable with MagSafe.
kevkwas
I liked the case, the sides are real nice to hold iPhones. What I didn’t like was the back needs more grip. I recommend this case
Kitty C.
A case makes all the difference. This has a fantastic grip, has magsafe compatible magnets, and feels like it has solid protection. Have used a Smartish case since iphone 7 and their amazing wallet cases. Could not recommend this case more. I had a tpu back with the “grip” sides to hold me over until this case shipped. The only reason I picked that case before this one is I didn’t realize this has a strap/lanyard mount too, which I use. My wife got hers first and I immediately ordered one. That other case was terrible and as soon as I switched, it was night and day for the overall feel and experience of the phone.
Collinb
I really want to like this case, I've never had a smartish case before but they were one of the few options for the 13 pro max. The case feels good but it's Hella slippery like a bar of soap sometimes I find myself having to wipe it down with alcohol constantly just have of hand oils. Idk guess its alright.

I have owned a great number of cases for iPhone starting with iPhone 3G all the way to the iPhone 13 Pro Max. This is one of if not the best case I have owned. The fit and amount of protection it provides is top notch. The textured finished with the finger groves provide the best grip of any case I have owned. The built in mag safe works as advertised. The mag safe holds my Apple wallet extremely secure and the mag safe chargers works flawlessly.
Alyssa2525
This case fits snug, works with any screen protector and looks great. It’s by far the best iPhone case I’ve ever owned.
B.M.
This is my first MagSafe case. Just upgraded to the iPhone 13 pro max and the grip this case offers is the best I’ve had.No drops yet, so I can’t speak to protection, but it seems more than adequate.
Fred
This case was as advertised. Nice rough rubber and very easy to grip. I do wish they offered more colors. Fit my 13 pro max like a glove.
Dakota
Unlike some of the competitors (ie Otterbox commuter case) claiming to be “MagSafe compatible” when they really just mean wireless charging, this case actually has the magnet ring that allows for the charger and accessories to stick to the back without holding it.I am extremely impressed with the quality and price for this case. A huge steal. Go for this one if you are in the market for a durable, affordable and real MagSafe compatible case!
Damien W.
Super grippy and awesome protection. Very sturdy and solid. I absolutely love this case. My favorite of any case I've ever had.
Merckx
I've always put my phones in cases and I've owned mostly Otterbox and Apple branded cases over the years. This case is less than half the price of those and easily as good (if not better). Super grippy and perfect fit. 5 star all the way and I'll buy their stuff again for sure. Cheers...
Kyle Z.
For as long as I’ve had iPhones, I’ve traditionally bought OtterBox or Lifeproof cases. I’ve found that in the past few years both brands quality has declined, leading to meh feeling plastics with seams and poor button tactility.I decided to give Smartish a try on my 11PM, and was absolutely blown away. The quality is a step above the rest. The material quality is excellent, no visible seams, and the buttons feel as Apple intended. The best part? They’re $20+ cheaper!Having had that experience on my 11, it was no question about ordering one for my 13PM. I’m happy to say the Gripzilla for the 13 is even better! The large corner impact absorbers of the 11 have been slimmed down, and overall the case just feels more sturdy.Keep up the good work Smartish. I’d love if you’d make an iPad Pro case like this!
Danny V.
This is going to be my favorite go to case! I absolutely love it!
